It is with great pleasure that I completed my last year of study in the Master 2 Corporate Environmental and Social Governance. Despite a year full of upheavals, in particular the Covid pandemic, the Master's team was able to maintain contact with its students in order to get through the crisis together. Throughout this academic year, the general atmosphere has been benevolent and attentive on the part of the Director of the Master, Mr. Lami and his team, as well as the students among themselves. The Master GESE is a beautiful training, enriching by the contents of its courses as well as by its training in alternation which allows the students to discover the world of the company and to acquire professional competences quickly. The professors and trainers give very specialized courses in the field of environmental regulations and are attentive to the students' needs and give good advice. Thanks to this last year of work-study, I was lucky enough to get a job offer one month after the end of the Master 2. I would like to sincerely thank all the teaching staff for this year 2019-2020.

Specificity of the course. Following a Master 1 "Private Law and Criminal Sciences", carried out within the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Aix-Marseille University, I had the opportunity to join the Master 2 "Law of the execution of sentences" in September 2018, directed by Professor Muriel Giacopelli. Beyond the rarity of the proposed course, which has only two equivalents on a national scale, the main assets of the training lie, in my opinion, in the quality of the teaching provided. Firstly, through theoretical training, provided by several specialists in the field, which proves to be essential for understanding the prison and judicial environments responsible for the execution of sentences. Secondly, thanks to cross-disciplinary teaching, common to several courses of the Master 2 Criminal Law, the training is in line with the knowledge acquired during the university course. Finally, the "Law of the execution of sentences" course offers several practical courses, taught by a wide variety of practising professionals (lawyers, judges and prosecutors, prison staff, associations). This approach has a double interest. On the one hand, it demonstrates the reality of professional practice, on the eve of taking a competitive examination, and thus possibly reinforces this choice. On the other hand, it approaches the law of the execution of sentences from a humanistic point of view, in order to better understand the real stakes and the problems linked to the discipline. Criminology seminar. For most of the students who have benefited from this training, one of its major assets is the criminology seminar, given at the Aix-Luynes 2 prison, which reinforces both its specificity and its richness. Directly in contact with the detainees in a penitentiary centre, this seminar initially allows to deal with subjects related to crime. But it also allows the participants to learn more about the reality of prison life and to benefit from the testimonies of people placed under justice. Internship. The compulsory internship to be carried out after the university training has several advantages. Firstly, because entry into a prison is, depending on one's profile and professional ambitions, sometimes a unique opportunity. Then, more prosaically, it allows you to come into contact with the professionals in charge of the execution of sentences, and therefore to possibly build up a future network. Then, because of the reputation of the Master and the freedom of choice given to students concerning the profession and the geographical area of the internship, there is a multitude of organisations that are favourable to hosting interns. In my class, several students were able to join penitentiary establishments (including the penitentiary centres of Marseille-Les Baumettes, Luynes in Aix-en-Provence, and Baie-Mahault in Guadeloupe), jurisdictions (judicial court - enforcement of sentences or trial, public prosecutor's office, office for the execution of sentences, associations (headquarters of the International Observatory of Prisons in Lyon). Job opportunities. The training, although specialised, leads to several competitive examinations common to the Master 2 in Criminal Law. Thus, it is possible to take all the competitive examinations available at Bac+5, as is the case for the competitive examination for the National School of the Judiciary or the CRFPA. Moreover, because of its specificity, the "Law of the execution of sentences" course also provides the knowledge that is indispensable for taking the civil service exams (ENAP). For my part, the course enabled me to continue my studies for a doctorate, and to carry out research on the execution of sentences and the prison environment.

I am a member of the M2 FPP class of 2019. This year has required a lot of personal work, but it has been very rewarding. I really enjoyed doing the research paper. After the M2, I was admitted to the school of notaries. This is a three-year sandwich course. The lessons given in M2 are very useful to me today, both in my studies and professionally in my internship, because they enabled me to acquire some tax reflexes.

I joined the Professional Master II Corporate Law and Taxation in September 2017 after a Master I Business Law. The teaching schedule is organized in the form of alternating between theory and practice every other week. The courses, taught by leading professors from Aix-Marseille University as well as high quality lecturers (notably lawyers), allow students to learn the knowledge necessary for the practice of taxation and to develop a critical mind of positive law. The integration within a law firm allows to approach the concrete exercise of the profession, the follow-up of files over a large period and the acquisition of a great work force. On a personal note, the law firm that welcomed me nearly 4 years ago for my work-study is the one where I am a tax lawyer today and will soon be the one where I will work for the first time as a lawyer. In a few words: This is a quality training course both in its professional and human dimensions.

The Master II Corporate Law and Taxation directed by Olivier Négrin is an excellent course, which allowed me to benefit from both high quality theoretical teaching and a first significant experience in the professional world thanks to its apprenticeship. I can only highly recommend it to all future students!

It is with great pride that I joined the Master 2 Law of the Execution of Sentences at the beginning of the 2019 academic year. We are received by Mrs GIACOPELLI who assures us that we will have to work hard but that we will come out of it full of assets to face the professional world and the civil service exams. We all look at each other, each one hoping to succeed in what he wanted: DSP, DPIP, CPIP, magistrate... Our year begins strongly, we meet a great man in the defence of human rights and the control of places of detention. And it is without a doubt that we will bear his name: we will be called the DELARUE Class. We followed theoretical courses, colloquiums, simulated public hearings, and interactions with professionals: public prosecutors, enforcement judges, prison clerks, directors of prison services, etc. It was my best academic year, both in terms of theory and pre-professional work and the results I obtained that year. This master's degree allowed me to perfect my criminal law, and more precisely the law of the application of sentences; secondly, to enrich my knowledge of practice thanks to the interventions of numerous professionals, and thirdly, it allowed me to be in total immersion for two months in a penitentiary establishment. Also, for those who are more passionate about the law of the execution of sentences, this M2 offered us the possibility to participate in a criminology seminar at the Luynes prison. This experience was rich, formative and full of meaning. Students aspire to concrete things and this professional M2 offers concrete things, practical things. But it is also concrete that it has enabled those who have completed it to integrate the Integrated Preparatory Class of the ENAP, to become Director of Penitentiary Services, Lawyer, Police Commissioner... Today, I am a Penitentiary Insertion and Probation Counsellor. And everything I have learned during this year of M2 is useful to me every day, so THANK YOU. I wish all the future students to spend a year as rich as mine. Have a good school year!

If the diploma is to be considered as a tool offered to each student for his or her future life, I would say that if it is well prepared, the Master 2 in Civil Law and Private International Law will become an undeniable asset in the professional life of any lawyer. First of all, this year is a logical extension of the Master 1 in Private Law in that it goes into all the subjects of civil law but also the fundamentals of private international law. This course allows students to consolidate their knowledge, but above all, it offers a logic of reflection to students. It is important to understand that this year requires work and personal investment. However, on the one hand this reinforces a work habit and confers rigour; on the other hand, this year marks a timely transition between the university and the professional world. Secondly, this complete training offers many opportunities between the main competitive examinations or the choice of an academic career. This is reflected in the choice between writing a thesis or doing an internship. For me, writing a thesis was an extremely enriching experience from a legal and personal point of view. My preparation for the CRFPA is easier than some of my classmates thanks to the many points covered during my year of Master 2 but especially thanks to the habits and research methodologies that I have acquired. The diversity of the interventions (between lawyers and foreign professors) also confers a playful and open aspect in the discovery or the increase of your legal culture. This enriching perspective is also found in the presence of numerous oral exercises (mock pleadings, presentation of research, grand oral, etc.) and greatly diversifies the ways of practicing law. Finally, from my own experience, I have observed a special dedication from some professors during the whole year but also during the first confinement linked to the health crisis. The human and personalized dimension remains in my opinion the strong point of the teaching staff of the Master of Civil Law and Private International Law.

Before joining the M2 Civil Law and Private International Law, I myself was not convinced of the intellectual added value of an extra year of law, pragmatically thinking that I had done all the subjects to prepare for the competitive exams I wanted to take. However, after careful consideration and discussion with practitioners and academics, I decided to complete my training at the Faculty of Law. This decision was a good one, as I feel that I have progressed as a lawyer much more than in my previous four years. Indeed, the course up to the M1 allows to acquire raw material, knowledge about law. It is also the way to learn legal reasoning. On the other hand, the M2 is the place for deepening one's knowledge. What to do with this accumulated knowledge? During this year, I learnt to take a step back from the law, to think more deeply about the meaning of reforms and the spirit of laws, but also to really dissertate, with a degree of understanding that I had not imagined before. Furthermore, the M2 was the opportunity to write a thesis, the highlight of my university course. This work was an opportunity to test and improve my legal research methods, but also to find new ones, and I have certainly grown from it. If there is one certainty, it is that I am a better lawyer than I was at the end of my M1, and that I have acquired weapons that will be invaluable for the preparation of my competitive examination. The M2, at least the one I had the honour of studying in, is the best the faculty has to offer, since it allows those who love the legal field deep down to discover another facet of law, to be intellectually stimulated and to have a privileged relationship with the teachers, since a limited number of students favours a closeness that is unfortunately not allowed in a lecture hall. Indeed, in addition to being all more competent than the others, the lecturers are all very benevolent, and are keen to discuss the law with their students. I regret however that the health situation has tainted this year by imposing a period of distanciel, hoping for better days for the following classes.

If my first four years of law school were very enriching, the year of M2 really allowed me to complete my construction as a lawyer. This year of M2 allowed me to acquire a certain height on my academic knowledge, allowing a pragmatic implementation of these. This practical application was made possible by the professors' way of working and the exercises proposed. For example, the choice to proceed with mock trials, which require work on a real court decision (or defence) and which also require real oral work; but also the choice of different transversal subjects, both written and oral, where it was no longer a question of simply reciting, but of having real reflection and a certain quality of writing or oratory, and methodological. Moreover, this year of M2 was an opportunity to do an internship of a sufficiently long duration to become aware of the field, to see law practitioners at work, to understand the need to step back from my knowledge, to apply it without compartmentalizing it into subjects. And on this point, I would like to underline the benevolence of the teaching staff, without whom I would not have been able to obtain such a high quality internship. Finally, this year of M2 was nourished by the presence of several speakers (actors, lawyers, etc.) who, once again, allowed us to become aware of certain realities in the field. The quality of the speakers was more noticeable because our class size was small, which favours a certain proximity that cannot be found in a lecture hall.
