I'm in Erasmus at the University of Brno (Czech Republic) for one year. The city is very nice with beautiful buildings and many parks and museums. It's also easy to visit other cities around like Vienna, Prague or Bratislava. I have a total of 7 lessons of 1h40 per week. Unfortunately, due to the current health situation, I don't have face-to-face classes but online via Microsoft Teams. Most of my classes are based on a discussion between the students and the teacher, so we have to read texts to prepare the session. In some classes I also ha […]

In some classes I also have essays to hand in or exercises to do. All the teachers use power points to make their lessons, which can be easily found. Also, the teachers are very available to answer any questions during the course or by email. We are very well supervised. The workload depends on the subjects and the weeks but overall, it's pretty good. The exams are online this year, there are several types of exams (essays to be handed in, MCQs, dissertation to be done in 2 hours and oral). Continuous assessment is not taken into account in all subjects and when it is taken into account, the final exam is still a big percentage of the grade. Concerning the budget, the daily life is less expensive than in France. For food, I spend between 20 and 25 euros per week. Restaurants and bars are very affordable. You can eat well for less than 10 euros a meal. Concerning the accommodation, there are university residences in which it is almost impossible not to find a place as an Erasmus student. On the other hand, the buildings are quite old and far from the city centre. The rooms are shared by two people with shared kitchens in some residences. The rent is about 130 euros per month. In times of confinement, the rules in the university residences have been quite strict with a curfew and a limitation of movement. You have to be careful to respect the rules because some students who did not respect the rules got kicked out of the residence. I didn't choose to go to a university residence but I am sharing with two other Erasmus students in the city centre. My rent is 350 euros/month. The transport pass costs 30 euros for 3 months but I did not take it because I live in the centre of Brno. Most of the difficulties I encountered were caused by the current health situation. However, it is still easy to meet Erasmus students but also local ones. Moreover, it is not possible to go to Brno by plane. It is possible to land in Prague or Vienna and reach Brno by train or bus. Please note that the currency is not the euro, 1 euro corresponds to about 25 Czech crowns.

Master 2 European and International Taxation
    Romane VALENTIN
The courses in the Master 2 European and International Taxation are taught by both renowned academics and professionals who are experts in their field. As a graduate of the class of 2020-2021, it is this duality that attracted me. On the one hand, the theoretical courses enabled us to acquire a solid foundation in domestic, European and international taxation. On the other hand, the more practical courses allowed us to take a first step towards our future profession while obtaining valuable advice from competent tax specialists and lawyers. Af […]

On the one hand, the theoretical courses enabled us to acquire a solid foundation in domestic, European and international taxation. On the other hand, the more practical courses allowed us to take a first step towards our future profession while obtaining valuable advice from competent tax specialists and lawyers. After six months of classes at the University, some of us went on to do an internship (law firms, tax departments of international companies, big4, tax authorities, etc.) while others wrote a thesis. Everyone has chosen their own path, in accordance with their desires. Good luck to the students who submit their various applications, believe in yourself and never give up on the goal you are pursuing.

In the end, all the departments fit into each other. For me, it is always great to see these giants of the seas, we can have a real impact on the economy of our country. Always bigger and bigger... I have been a shiplanner at Eurofos since 2017.

The group offered me in November 2018 to continue my career by integrating a V.I.E (Volontariat International en Entreprise). Being originally from Madagascar, I took this opportunity because the desire to leave and discover other cultures was part of my priorities. I took the position of Business Developer for the CCIS (CMA-CGM Inland Services). My main mission was to manage and develop the activities of the Logistics Platform. I proposed complete logistic solutions with an adaptation to the specific needs of our customers, all along their Supply Chain. I am now Operations Manager at AMT S.A. Advanced Maritime Transports in Douala, Cameroon. I see every day the implementation of these 5 years of study. Participate in seminars, conferences, symposiums or congresses. Taking the time to participate in this type of professional event is really worth it, in order to create "real links", synergies. It boosts your relational network because the shipping world is a very small world.

As part of my Master's degree in Air Transport Law and Management at IFURTA, I did my end-of-studies internship at Châteauroux airport with the airport's security manager. These few months in an airport were a great opportunity to develop my knowledge of the air transport sector and to better understand its diversity, since Châteauroux airport is the seat of many aeronautical activities different from the classic commercial passenger transport: specialized freight, maintenance, dismantling, aircraft painting, training centre for aerodrome firemen, pilot training, manufacturer tests, ... This internship also confirmed and even strengthened my will to work in the airport sector. After IFURTA, I looked for a first position on an airport platform, before finally being recruited at the beginning of 2016 by the Union of French Airports (UAF) as a lawyer, a position I still hold today. UAF, which has since become UAF & FA (Union des Aéroports Français et Francophones Associés), is the professional organization of French airports, whatever their size and specialty. Its main mission is to defend and promote the interests of the French airport community with French and European decision-makers. In the context of my duties, I am required to advise and inform UAF members on all legal issues that may affect them: competition law, State aid, insurance, public property, concession law, personal data protection, etc. I am now very pleased to return to IFURTA as a lecturer in the "Airport Management" seminar to present the French airport network and the different management methods of the platforms to the students. I am also in charge of the course "Organisation and European and international air law" within the Professional Licence "Airport Logistics and Air Transport" of the IUT of Evry.

This Master's degree has the advantage of combining theory and practice, thanks to the periods spent in companies, and to the national certification of Wealth Advisor issued by the Ecole Supérieure de la Banque, a training organization recognized in the banking industry. In addition, the diversity of the lecturers allows for a better understanding of the different facets of wealth management. For several years now, the master's degree has been taking part in the Agefi Grand Prix for Young Graduates, alongside the major French universities and schools. This competition, which is both collective and individual, reveals the best Masters and the young talents of each year. For me, this will remain a great memory: a real team effort that highlights our training and skills. After spending a year in Luxembourg with Crédit Agricole Indosuez, I am currently a private banking advisor with LCL in Aix-en-Provence.

I would like to thank all the teaching staff who participated in this achievement.
