All of the Faculty of Law and Political Science's Masters courses are selective. Students wishing to enrol in these courses must apply via the eCandidat platform, scrupulously respecting the indications and timetables presented below.

Please note: Applicants from certain countries are subject to a specific application procedure via the "Études en France" platform. See the relevant section below.

Please note that the dates have been modified on 19/04/2021 for access to Master 2.

  • Master 1 application

    Access to Master 1 studies is reserved for holders of a law degree. Applicants who do not hold this degree must obtain anequivalence decision.

    Applications must be submitted between April 23 and May 17, 2021, except for the Urbanism and Development field (see the summary table above).

    Applications must be submitted exclusively through the eCandidat platform. No applications will be received by any other means.

  • Master 2 applications

    There are two different procedures for accessing the Master 2 programme, depending on the student's situation. These situations are described below. If you have any questions about the procedures for accessing the Master 2 programme, you can ask your questions on the dedicated forum.

    Students must download and complete the Procedure Form to indicate which procedure they are applying for, then attach it in PDF format to their application file.

    Students with a right of access to Master 2

    All students who have been selected for admission to the Master 2 programme are entitled to full access to the Master 2 programme. This applies to students admitted to the main list as well as to those admitted to the complementary list or on appeal (including rectoral appeal). This benefit is retained in the event of a repeat year authorised by the jury, provided that the student had previously been selected for entry into Master 1. It is also retained in the event of a gap year, if this is carried out in accordance with the regulatory conditions. On the other hand, the interruption of studies outside of the gap-year scheme deprives the student of his or her right of access to Master 2.

    You must apply between 26 April and 9 May 2021 and make up to 3 wishes via the E-candidat platform.

    The assignment of the student to a Master 2 is subject to the decision of the director of the field, after consultation with the heads of the courses concerned. The wishes formulated by the candidates are taken into account within the limits of the places available in each of the courses.

    Students who do not have a right of access to Master 2

    The following students are concerned

    • students who have followed a non-selective Master 1 course (or equivalent)
    • Repeat students who were not selected when they first registered for a Master 1 course;
    • students who have followed a selective course in another institution or another field;
    • students who have interrupted their studies since the validation of their Master 1, except in the case of a regulatory break;
    • students who have been registered administratively in the field outside the selection process, in particular for the purposes of a study period abroad.

    These students are subject to a selection procedure. You must apply from 17 May to 04 June 2021 and make up to 3 wishes via the E-candidat platform.

    Please note : the number of wishes cannot be accumulated between the two procedures and candidates may not make more than 3 wishes in total.

  • Applications for a Master's degree in work-linked training

    The Faculty offers several masters 2 in alternation. Access to these courses is subject to the application procedures mentioned above. However, some access modalities to these courses may be specific.

    For more information, please contact the people in charge of these courses on our page dedicated to work-study programs.

  • Equivalences

    Students who do not have a law degree must obtain an equivalence decision. Their file is automatically studied in the framework of the eCandidat selection procedure: they do not have to take any specific steps.

  • Foreign students

    Countries with a special procedure :

    Students residing abroad and from countries with a Study in France procedure must apply via the Study in France application:

    • List of countries with a Study in France procedure: Algeria, Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Comoros, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Guinea, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Korea, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, United States, Vietnam
    • The C1 level is required for the certification of the French language.
    • Applications can be submitted from November 1, 2020 to March 5, 2021.

    Partial Exemption from Differential Fees:

    The Board of Directors of Aix-Marseille University approved on January 19, 2021 the implementation of a partial exemption from differentiated registration fees for the academic year 2021/2022.

    This exemption will thus make it possible to reduce the amount of registration fees for non-EU students to the same level as that paid by French or European students.

    No specific steps are required from the students. The exemption will be applied directly to them.
