Faced with the challenge of climate change, the transformation of our modes of energy production and consumption has become a major public policy issue, both at the national and European levels. The return of war to Europe and its consequences on the energy markets have made it even more topical and urgent.

However, the multiple levers of energy policy raise the question of the objectives that public authorities should set themselves, both from the point of view of the energy mix and of a more sober use of energy. How far and how fast should the energy transition go? In what direction should our energy mix evolve, with what place for renewable energies? Under what conditions can our societies consume less energy?

In addition, the social and economic implications of the energy transition, highlighted by the sharp rise in energy prices in Europe, also require reflection on the most appropriate tools to ensure an effective and acceptable transition. How can we initiate and plan the necessary transformations in a context of crises? At what cost to the citizen?
