Through the theme of poisons and, more generally, poisoning, this symposium aims to offer a fresh look and new perspectives on the One Health approach. This approach proposes an integrated, systemic approach to human, animal and environmental health. Just like humans, the environment, plants and animals can produce and/or release toxins, as well as being poisoned. Today, in the context of global and climatic change, and emerging toxicity, one of the challenges is to live with poison rather than avoid it, which seems impossible in many fields, particularly environmental pollution. The theme of poisons and poisoning thus enables us to interest a wide range of disciplines, from historical, sociological and geographical approaches to work in toxicology, infectiology and environmental health.
