The relationship between religion and "crisis" is a multifaceted phenomenon. On a theoretical or empirical level, the aim is to analyze how crises of exogenous, endogenous (or mixed) origin affect religious institutions, actors, practices, values and so on. On an epistemological level, we'll also be looking at what it means to study the "religious in times of crisis", the place of the social scientist and his or her relationship to the field in a crisis context.
