This seminar is devoted to the study of circulations from the South to the North, with a view to deconstructing the "British Empire" as a homogeneous category of thought, in order to write and think about the intellectual, artistic and political histories of people circulating within this political space known as the Commonwealth of Nations in the post-Bandung period. In line with previous work on the networks, exchanges and transfers between artists, intellectuals and political activists from the global South within this space, we seek to question the counter-hegemonic nature of the knowledge, theories and artistic practices produced since Bandung. Through this seminar, we aim to analyze the circulation and transfer of political and cultural ideas, as well as the intellectual trajectories of individuals, collectives and institutions.
