    This Master's degree is part of a contemporary trend towards greater knowledge of the workings and issues of decision-making and legislative processes at local, national and European level. A complete pathway in the public law major, the programme enables students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical and specific skills specific to the integration of future players in political and public projects.

    The programme is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to become involved in the decision-making and legislative processes at local, national and European levels

    The student will be an expert in legislative and more broadly liberating institutions, capable of responding to the cultural, economic, scientific and technological challenges that the norm/law will encounter in the 21st century. He or she will be able to produce legal advice and information for public or private structures, develop action strategies and draft memoranda or prepare language to promote the communication strategy of his or her organisation

  • TARGETED STUDENTS

    Students with an interest in decision-making and public affairs and wishing to deepen their understanding of European, national and local democratic processes.

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

    In Master 1 : This course is sélective and conditional

    on application to Monmaster. And for Etudes en France students on Campus France.

    In Master 2 : Students from Master 1 EPDA or holders of a Master 1 in law or another Master depending on motivation and experience. Students who do not hold a degree in public law will be subject to selection.

    Entry to the Master 2 programme is conditional on the submission of an application on e-candidat.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    Licence or Master 1 in public law, history of law, political science, international relations or economics and/or social sciences.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    A strong interest in following the issues raised by current legal and political developments and a solid general knowledge are required. It is recommended, but not compulsory, to have taken courses in public law at Licence and Master 1 level covering institutional and constitutional aspects and public litigation.

  • STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

    The Master's degree is organised into 4 semesters: M1 and M2. This is a complete course which is part of the public law major. In Master 1, 48% of the teaching is shared with the Public Law major, but specialised knowledge is introduced in the first year and reinforced and supplemented throughout Master 2, in addition to content relating to the major issues in public law. Particular emphasis is placed on practical exercises and professional development, as evidenced in the second year by the compulsory 4-6 month work placement.

    The apprenticeship accreditation procedure for Master 2 is currently being validated so that the M2 apprenticeship will be offered in the 2025-2026 academic year

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

    The course draws on the work and expertise developed within the Institut Louis Favoreu / GERJC. The Master's degree draws on specialised knowledge and enables the practical implementation of liberating processes. It also provides training in reflection, since Master 1 introduces students to research and requires them to produce a report, while Master 2 culminates in an internship and a dissertation. (The M2 will be open to apprenticeships at the start of the 2025 academic year, pending validation).

    - Understand and analyse the workings of democratic assemblies and institutions.

    - Détermine and question the rôle and status of their administrative and political staff.

    - Maîtrise decision-making, control and evaluation processes.

    - Identify the major contemporary issues in public law.

    - Develop standard-setting instruments.

    - Acquire the déontological r´flexes in the public space.

    - Prepare for professional integration by applying linguistic, technical and recreational skills to the various tasks required and during the placement.
