1 Framework (summary)

Created in 2023, the Prix Dufaure - Comité d'histoire parlementaire et politique (CHPP) is awarded annually to the author of a master's thesis on contemporary politics and parliament (since the French Revolution). It is open to works in the following disciplines: constitutional and parliamentary law, political history, political science and political sociology.

The prize is organized by the Comité d'histoire parlementaire et politique. The CHPP is a French association founded by academics. Its aims are to promote research into French and international political history, and to raise public awareness of parliamentary activities.

The prize is named after Jules Dufaure (1798-1881), a former parliamentarian and minister under the July Monarchy, the Second Republic and the Third Republic.

Winning the Prix Dufaure-CHPP entitles the winner to :

- an endowment of 1,500 euros

- publication of the dissertation on the CHPP website

- publication of a review article in the journal Parlement[s], after validation by a reading committee.

2 Eligibility (summary)

Only students with a French-language Master's thesis defended in 2022 or 2023 are eligible to compete, with a limit of one possible application for the prize.
