The overall aim of the research will be to assess and anticipate the health impacts of climate change, and the responses that can be made to them, as well as to strengthen advocacy in favor of reinventing humanitarian response methods and adapting healthcare systems to the upheavals underway. To this end, the Foundation will encourage action-research initiatives aimed at studying relevant and innovative schemes implemented by local, national or international associations or NGOs, on themes such as :

  • Access to drinking water and sanitation in communities affected by climate change;
  • Strengthening community health systems and climate resilience;
  • Building the capacity of community health professionals to deal with climate change-related diseases;
  • Local early warning systems and anticipatory community actions in a context of climate change impacting health;
  • Local interventions to prepare for, protect against and adapt to the health impacts of climate change;
  • Community systems and adaptive interventions to heatwaves and the health consequences of rising temperatures in impacted communities.

The study of the role of civil society organizations, the concrete effects of community dynamics (as object and method), and the reproducibility of endogenous initiatives is particularly encouraged.
