Online 11 07 2024

(Calenda Announcement 1177258)

There are many myths and false beliefs about palliative and end-of-life care (PEOLC), such as that it is only about symptom management, or that it is reserved exclusively for the dying and is not suitable for children. It is therefore essential to demystify them, to keep stakeholders informed and to enable the population, patients and their loved ones, as well as caregivers, to acquire the skills they need to understand, evaluate and use health information on the different trajectories of care, dying and death. The day will provide an opportunity to present portraits, findings and suggestions for improvement and innovation. It will also serve as a foundation for further research aimed at better understanding and supporting improved literacy among people with end-of-life care, their loved ones, caregivers and the general public.
