Created at the request of the Conseil Régional des Notaires d’Aix-en-Provence, and the Institut des Métiers du Notariat d’Aix-en-Provence and developed in partnership with them, the course aims to specialise and professionalise students so that they can access the legal system and the law;The aim of the course is to specialise and professionalise students so that they can work in a notary's office. This professional degree offers specialised legal training in the core activities of the profession, focusing on the fundamental themes of notarial practice (family law, property law, business law). This training allows access to the functions of notary's assistant, classified at level T1 in the collective agreement of the notary's office. These collaborators are responsible for the drafting of current notarial acts, simple legal operations or more specialised files, in accordance with the general directives of the notary and under the latter's supervision.

Students admitted to the notary's professional licence must hold one of the following diplomas:
BTS Notariat, BTS Professions Immobilières, IUT GEA or TC, L2 droit.

LEARNING AND RESEARCH
Training and initiation to research are reflected in the tutored project for which students are introduced to research, synthesis and writing techniques. As part of the tutored project, the student must prepare a thesis. To do this, the student will be supervised by a tutor (a teacher in the program) and twelve hours of methodology are provided to help him/her in the development of this project.
Students in the notary's professional license have access to the university library's collection of documents, which allows them to familiarize themselves with research techniques. In addition, students are systematically invited to attend real estate law meetings (organized by the Grediauc) and certain continuing education courses (organized by the C.F.P.N.)
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
have the capacity to settle estates,
to draw up marriage contracts, current real estate sales acts
handle more specialized files (construction operations, commercial contracts, asset management, real estate negotiations)
mastering co-ownership law, town planning law, matrimonial property law, in order to draft autonomously the deeds concerning these matters, under the directives of the employing notary
knowledge of consumer law, in order to be able to verify the conformity of loan offers, tax, accounting and mortgage law
to tax the acts
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
The internship is composed in two stages, eight and four weeks, within one or two studies. The internship gives rise to an internship report which is presented to a jury made up of two members: an academic and a professional. The tutored project is supervised by a tutor who is usually the internship master on a subject chosen by the intern. Methodology courses provide information on the project's implementation.
SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS
The training is exclusively given in initial training.
The training is organized exclusively in the premises of the Institut des Métiers du Notariat d’Aix-en-Provence.
The training is organised around compulsory theoretical (lectures) and practical (supervised work, given by professionals) teaching, a twelve-week internship and a dissertation and internship report defense.
