Update 04 02 2026

Announcement Calenda 1 321 858

This 2025/2026 seminar explores the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and democracy: the promise of optimized information, deliberation and participation, but also the risks of manipulation, concentration of power and the transformation of law by code. Drawing on a number of disciplinary perspectives, the book offers a historical and theoretical perspective, as well as an analysis of current experiments. The aim is to clarify the threats posed by AI to democracy, and what AI could actually contribute to democratic processes, without replacing them. The ultimate aim of this seminar is to identify the conditions for public governance that will enable these tools to be used in the public interest.
