Since the release of ChatGPT in November 2022, machine learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) systems have been used not only by the general public but also in a growing number of sectors and professions. Given the societal, data protection, and freedom-related issues at stake, there is strong debate about the need for regulation. However, there is also fierce opposition to such efforts. We will analyze these conflicting viewpoints. The seminar will also take a critical look at some of the challenges posed by generative AI in three sectors.
