The international colloquium "Brazil: Thinking about dictatorship on the sixtieth anniversary of the military coup d'état" will bring together Brazilian and Latin American researchers working on the Brazilian military regime (1964-1985). The year 2024, which marked the sixtieth anniversary of the coup d'état of March 31 1964, was characterized by a series of events and initiatives devoted to the ephemeris, which provoked their share of reflections and questioning. One year on, we'd like to offer a critical assessment of the changes proposed by humanities and social science research on the military dictatorship.
