The study of combat experiences, in all their complexity and diversity, aims to go beyond a simple analysis of military institutions, their strategies, and their weaponry. It must focus on the relational dynamics among combatants, paying particular attention to everyday interactions, which are often mistakenly perceived as trivial. These bonds of solidarity, emotional ties, and shared narratives are not mere byproducts of their experiences: they are integral components that influence both their cohesion and the way in which they experience and understand combat.
