Announcement Calenda 1139542
The Carnation Revolution was the product of late decolonization and the discrediting of the Salazarist dictatorship among a population condemned to exile and poverty. But this revolution was also the product of the post-1968 international context, with the Cold War in the process of easing. It had a strong international appeal, to the point of becoming a source of inspiration. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, this one-day conference will take stock of the situation and offer some research perspectives on the international dimension of the Portuguese Spring.
Study day organized by the Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po with the support of the Portuguese Embassy - Camões Portuguese Cultural Centre in Paris and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
