Calenda Announcement 1,435,146 (excerpts)

This event marks the conclusion of a national collaborative research project that examined the educational trajectories and experiences of children and adolescents receiving palliative care. Using primarily qualitative methods (observations, interviews, focus groups, and diaries), the researchers examined the practices and experiences of various stakeholders: children, parents, peers, education and school health professionals, and caregivers. More than a hundred people were interviewed as part of this study. This research offers unprecedented data on the challenges and difficulties of continuing schooling in the face of serious illness, as well as on how schools handle death and grief. The event will provide an opportunity for discussion among researchers, professionals, families, and representatives of community organizations.
