The aim of this colloquium is to examine the discrimination suffered by fat people in the digital age. From an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspective, the aim is to take stock of the phenomenon by bringing together scientists (sociologists, doctors, researchers in information and communication sciences, etc.) and civil society players such as educators (journalists, etc.), activists from the voluntary sector and influencers who will talk about their experiences and their activism in the fight against discrimination, particularly grossophobia. Beyond this, the challenge will be to examine these oppressions in a digital context, questioning the role of platforms in perpetuating these oppressions or, on the contrary, in reconfiguring or even diminishing them (the role of resistance made possible by the horizontality of platforms).
