This research seminar focuses on recent and ongoing work at the intersection of women’s and gender history, on the one hand, and transnational and European history, on the other. The seminar has two objectives: to propose a history of gender that transcends national borders and local struggles, while developing a history of Europe that fully integrates gender as a category of analysis. Building on the historiographical renewal in these areas, it proposes a European and transnational approach to the struggles for equality.
