The scientific research conducted by this year’s recipients of the Foundation’s research grants will shed particular light on two topics: community involvement in disaster risk management programs, and the targeting of aid. In response to these contemporary challenges, the researchers are providing insights as well as recommendations for rethinking approaches and improving the lives of those receiving assistance, which they will discuss with field practitioners.
