Announcement Calenda 1198792
Meeting organized by the Agence nationale de la recherche in partnership with the École des hautes études en sciences sociales to mark the publication of the ANR booklet Inégalités, vulnérabilités, solidarités, société - Bilan des actions et projets financés 2005 - 2023.
Measuring inequalities and vulnerabilities, and analyzing the dynamics that generate, reinforce or attenuate them, is both an essential social issue and a scientific challenge. In addition to knowledge of social and economic determinants, we need to understand the populations concerned, their life courses, and the characterization of situations, whether they concern social life, housing, school, health, work or the environment. In addition to objective measurement, we need to understand how individuals perceive these phenomena, as well as the mechanisms, actions, rights and policies that societies implement to regulate them. This meeting will bring together researchers in sociology, economics, geography, law, history and epidemiology, along with representatives from the field, civil society and public institutions. It will provide an opportunity to reflect on the many dimensions of inequality and vulnerability, and on the contribution of research to understanding them.
