On October 16, 2026, as part of the 90th anniversary of the creation of the International Brigades and the 30th anniversary of the Malraux Amendment—which granted French veterans in Spain the status of war veterans— and the 30th anniversary of Spain’s Ley de Memoria, a symposium titled“The International Brigades: 90 Years of a Shared Memory. Current State and Outlook: 1936–1996–2026.” This event, co-organized by ACER, the Rivesaltes Camp Memorial, and the ONACVG, and led by historian Edouard Sill, is part of the schedule of commemorations planned as part of the Ministry of Culture’s “André Malraux 50th Anniversary” initiative.
