Calenda announcement 1 440 968 (excerpts)
This symposium, bringing together scientific perspectives (law, soil science, geography, urban planning, archaeology and bacteriology) with artistic perspectives, presents an initial assessment of the action research carried out by researchers from the POPSU team in collaboration with Tours Métropole Val de Loire, as part of the development of their Local Metropolitan Urban Development Plan.
The morning will be devoted to the experiments carried out to gain a better understanding of the soils within the Tours Métropole Val de Loire area.
The afternoon will explore the avenues and voices of law and art to foster the emergence of a protective status for living soils.
The day will conclude with the opening of an exhibition of works by PieR Gajewski, Artist in Residence at the University of Tours: ‘The Horizon Beneath Our Feet: Art and Science Perspectives on Soil and Its Functions’.
