Geography as the "eye of history" is a common expression during the modern period, but it is articulated in a specific way if we take the cartographic object as our point of observation. The aim of this study day is to reinvestigate the map-history pairing in the chronological span from the 16th to the 18th century, in Europe and its imperial extensions, in several directions.
