Médiamerica is a seminar led by researchers working in France on American news media. Its aim is to bring to life research on the links between communication processes, the production, formatting and circulation of information and politics in the North American context. Médiamerica brings together researchers whose varied backgrounds enable them to explore issues related to these questions from both historical and contemporary perspectives. The seminar offers a space for scientific reflection and debate, giving due prominence to emerging phenomena and the ways in which the academic community on both sides of the Atlantic is seizing upon them. The project, which seeks to build bridges between English-language studies and information and communication sciences, encourages dialogue between disciplines and a variety of methodological approaches from an intercultural perspective.
