Mental health has become, over the last thirty years, a fundamental concern in Western societies. The legislator itself has enshrined, in the 2016 health law, the existence of a mental health policy determined in the framework of relevant territories. Insurance, which is intended to protect the individual against any type of risk inherent in his or her existence, is then in turn questioned in its relationship to this mental health issue. These questions will be addressed during the annual colloquium of the master's degree in insurance law, organized under the auspices of the Institut caennais de recherche juridique (ICREJ), which will bring together academics, lawyers, insurers and mental health practitioners.
