Military history is a rich and lively history, which draws on the work of many disciplines as well as on the debates of contemporary historiography. It is not only a history of war, but more globally of the phenomenon of war, that is to say of a whole part of the existence of men and societies, which integrates the military tool and its uses in times of peace as well as in times of war. It is on the basis of this broad definition that this seminar, open to the public, proposes, once a month, to question historians - civilian or military - as much as their work, in order to grasp, through a singular and diachronic approach, their methods, their objects and their questionings.
