Announcement Calenda 1209528
This second symposium in the War Losses & Naval Warfare program, organized in partnership with the Centre d'études stratégiques de la Marine (CESM), aims to study naval losses, both material and human, during the climax of combat. All types of combat involving naval forces or capabilities will be considered, whether these take place at sea, under the sea or above it, in the context of the mobilization of naval air forces, with an increasing combination of combat domains throughout the 20th century, and the accelerated integration of cyber and space since the beginning of the 21st century. Amphibious operations, conducted in the "brown and green waters" of coastlines, estuaries and rivers, will also be examined. The influence of crews' health status on combat losses and the measures taken to remedy or benefit from them will also be considered.
