AIMS
The Master 2 DUDE - Town Planning and Environmental Law enables future professionals to understand the social and environmental challenges of town planning law, and to learn new ways of designing, building and managing towns and territories. The challenges of ecological and energy transition, of combating and adapting to climate change, and of the economical consumption of space, natural resources and energy all entail major changes in legal standards and procedures.
The diploma thus enables students to:
Acquire a dual competence in town planning law and environmental law in order to learn in their globality; the challenges of town planning law and the energy and environmental transition, and to take account of changes in standards.
Practise strong openness à interdisciplinarité in the content and methods of teaching as well as in the valorisation of team and personal work, thanks to the attachment of this law degree à an institute of urban planning.
Facilitate their integration thanks to the support of a network of professionals at regional level as well as institutional partners such as the City of Marseille, the Aix-Marseille Provence Metropolitan Authority, the Nature Parks, environmental associations, etc.

Mastery of the legal tools of urban and environmental planning, controlôle of land authorizations, and environmental polices
Openness to multidisciplinary knowledge (cartography and GIS, earth and life sciences)
Understanding of land and property management tools
Mastery of public litigation techniques
Mobilisation of legal knowledge on a field study (applied research project)
Assisting and advising on any legal issue in environmental or town planning law (legal clinic)
Ability to carry out individual research (research or internship dissertation)
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
3-month end-of-study internship.
Applied research project, tutored collective work on a field study with a public sponsor.
Law clinic, group tutored work on legal advice in environmental or town planning law
OFFSITE TEACHING
The majority of classes will take place in Marseille, on the IMVT (Institut Méditerranéen de la Ville et des Territoires) site from Monday to Thursday from mid-September to early February.
Some lectures and urban planning workshops will be given in Aix-en-Provence. These courses are grouped together over one or more full days.
