Since its launch in February 2022, the "Governing Islands" program has established itself as a particularly dynamic research collective in the field of island and maritime studies, with numerous European and international scientific partnerships to its credit (France, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Slovenia, Algeria). Building on this experience, the program will be organizing a second workshop from October 13 to 17, 2025, entitled "Measuring the island: knowledge, administrations, populations (modern and contemporary periods)", which aims to bring together doctoral students studying past and present island configurations using the tools and methods of the various human and social sciences.
