Protecting people "in situations of vulnerability" is - in the words of Philippe Malaurie - "the honor of the law". It is also an imperative that must guide public policy in our aging Western societies... In France, the legislative arsenal, after a long period of stability, was thoroughly overhauled in 2007. Today, many professionals in the sector, users, academics and legal practitioners are denouncing the imperfections of the French system. The aim of this symposium is to consider future developments in French law, whether already under discussion or only at the stage of doctrinal proposals, in the light of the Quebec experience.
