  The Marcel Wormser Prize was created by the ASTRES association to stimulate the development of provenance research as a discipline, and to pay tribute to Mr. Marcel Wormser, co-founder of the association, who passed away in 2021.

  Each year, the Marcel Wormser Prize rewards the work of researchers - students, professionals or amateurs - on the traceability of cultural goods. The call for entries for the fourth edition of the prize will be open from March 31, 2026 to May 31, 2026.

  The Marcel Wormser Prize is endowed with €4,000. This sum will be divided between the Grand Prix, which is open to academics, doctoral students and students, and the Prix Spécial, which is open to any individual regardless of age or profession.

  Each year, the Cour de France association provides financial support for the publication of two theses on the subject of the court or related themes. Each winning thesis is credited with €3,000 for publication.

  Presentation

  Created in 1973 within the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Comité d'histoire de la Sécurité sociale's mission is to contribute to a better understanding of the history of social security and, more broadly, of social protection from the Ancien Régime to the present day, to encourage scientific work and to ensure or assist its dissemination. In this spirit, each year the History Committee rewards theses and master's-level works, completed within the last three years, relating to the history of social protection in the broadest sense (including unemployment and social action), including its international dimension. Works must be written in French or English. In 2026, four prizes may be awarded by the History Committee, to theses devoted to unpublished historical research and master's theses.

  The total prize is €7,000.

  Eligibility

  These works must :

  • relate to the history of social protection in the broadest sense (including unemployment and social action), including its international dimension,
  • be completed within the last three years,
  • be written in French or English.

  As the prizes awarded to theses are intended to encourage their publication, the jury will not consider theses that have already been published or are in the process of being published.

  Prizes may be awarded for one or more theses or master's theses. The jury reserves the right to divide the total amount allocated to theses and dissertations according to the quality of the winning work.

  The jury reserves the right to reject any thesis that has already been awarded a prize.

  The jury reserves the right to award a special mention without prize money.

  The journal Sociologie du travail awards an annual Prix des jeunes auteursices. This call for article proposals is aimed at young researchers or students who are enrolled in a thesis or have defended their thesis within the last two years at the deadline for article proposals (i.e. after September 30, 2024), and whose work falls within the scope of the journal.

  The submission deadline is September 30, 2026. Candidates will be informed of the results of the jury's selection in January 2027, at which point the editorial board will take over responsibility for the texts selected in the first phase. Submissions can be made by filling in a form on the magazine's website.

  The ARIC Prize for the best doctoral thesis in intercultural research rewards a research work produced for a doctoral degree that makes an outstanding contribution to the advancement of knowledge or practice in the field of intercultural research. The thesis may come from any discipline in the human and social sciences (anthropology, foreign language didactics, geography, history, linguistics, philosophy, psychology, educational science, political science, economics, sociology, social work, etc.).

  The prize is awarded at the biennial congress of the International Association for Intercultural Research. The next congress will take place from May 25 to 27, 2027 at the Université de la Réunion.

  To apply for the ARIC 2027 Prize, candidates must have successfully defended a doctoral thesis on a subject related to intercultural research between July 1, 2024 and May 30, 2026.

  The ARIC prize includes :

  • A 500-euro grant from ARIC to help cover the winner's travel expenses to the ARIC conference.
  • ARIC membership for two years
  • Free registration for the ARIC 2027 conference
  • Thesis presentation in plenary session at the 2027 conference

  1 Background

  The Maison méditerranéenne des sciences humaines et sociales (Mmsh) awards two thesis prizes, each worth 3,000 euros, for work in Mediterranean and African studies in all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences.

  The call is open to research covering all periods - archaeology and antiquity, the modern and contemporary eras, the present day - as well as all Mediterranean and African spaces studied through comparative, transnational or more localized approaches.

  The call for applications is open to theses written in French, and defended in France or abroad during the year preceding that of the campaign.

  Every year, the Association académique pour la recherche historique et sociologique dans le domaine de l'énergie (AARHSE), with the support of the FNCCR, organizes a national academic prize for master's degrees, doctorates, HDRs, essays... in the history or sociology of energy.

  For this 12th edition of the competition, entries can be submitted until January 31, 2027. The AARHSE Prize is awarded for works of any kind relating to AARHSE's areas of interest, in particular history or sociology, or other works in the human sciences, in the field of energy (excluding economics and law).

  AARHSE gives preference to works focusing on forms of energy produced in France (electricity, renewable energies, gas, hydrogen, etc.) or comparing other models with the French model.

  The AARHSE Prize comprises three categories (defense or publication between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026):

  • The first category rewards academic work (thesis, HDR, etc.) carried out at a French university. The thesis must have been defended between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026.
  • The second category is for a work published between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026, in the form of an essay, article, work of art or any other form deemed appropriate by the jury.
  • The third category is designed to reward students in the human and social sciences of energy, who have defended a Master's degree between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026, at a French university.

  1 Summary of the scheme

  The text of the above-mentioned scheme can be consulted via the link to the Institut Robert Badinter website ("collaborate" tab, then "submit a project" section, then the above-mentioned project) which appears at the end of this announcement.

  2 Summary list of documents to be supplied (via 2 pdf files)

  All requests for publication support from the Institut must include :

  • the complete typescript of the work (in electronic version, PDF format),
  • a presentation of the publication, the summary of the work, the table of contents of the work,
  • an agreement with a publisher and a publication estimate,
  • a presentation of the researchers involved in the publication project,
  • an administrative and financial information sheet.

  These documents must be drawn up with the utmost care, failing which applications will not be considered by the Institute's Scientific Advisory Board. Any other document deemed relevant may be attached in support of the application.

  The application must be submitted electronically, in the form of two files (a PDF of the typescript and a PDF containing all the other documents in the application).
