These study days are devoted to architectural materials, their role in the definition of architectural and urban projects, their production policies and their implementation on site. The different manipulations undergone by materials will be studied in order to highlight the way in which the phases of design, production, construction and transformation of materials into structures are inscribed in certain political contexts, can embody visions of society and intervene in a determined manner in the current ecological crisis.
Is it possible to interpret the events of the natural world and the course of human history by taking matter as an explanatory principle?
The different conferences presented during these study days will be collected in a publication that will ensure the dissemination of research.
These days consist of several conferences divided into three themes, bringing together international researchers from the fields of architecture, art, engineering, restoration and human and social sciences.
In order to evaluate the different research orientations, the conferences will be devoted to methodological issues and current studies on "Structures and Societies", "Energy and Production", "Construction and Activism".
