This study day proposes to engage in a reflection on the sources, methods and theories in social sciences in the face of military nuclear power. By bringing together researchers from various disciplines (law, history, political science and sociology) and from different fields of investigation, its ambition is to approach the question of military nuclear power from a point of view that is not exclusively political, geopolitical or strategic, and to examine in particular how the question of military nuclear power has been addressed by the social sciences since the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
