The Télé - Visions research program, supported by the IMAGO-Cultures Visuelles association, explores the impact of emission, transmission and reception technologies on the visual arts and visual culture, from the 19th century to the present day. The project brings together a body of recent work that questions the influence of these technologies on the circulation and dissemination of images. The plural "Télé - Visions175 " refers not only to television, but encompasses the diversity of remote viewing and image transmission devices. From semaphores to wireless telegraphy, via fiber optics to contemporary computer networks, these innovations have redefined the ways in which images are disseminated, based on principles of flow and immediacy.
