By exploring the ecosystem of solidarity-based third places, this multidisciplinary symposium in the human and social sciences seeks to question these new models of social action. Spaces for cooperation, working together and active solidarity, these third-tier solidarity spaces are experimenting with new ways of helping the most vulnerable. However, these spaces are also fraught with many frictions, fragilities and controversies, which academic research on the subject must also shed light on. The aim of this symposium is to highlight the tensions between empowerment and conflict.
