Calenda Announcement 1,426,211 (excerpts)

The request—or the lack thereof—lies at the heart of any intervention with families. But what kind of request are we talking about? That of the child, the parents, the institution, the judge, or society? Whether articulated, implicit, coerced, or impossible, it permeates every support process and often determines its outcome.

This symposium aims to make the request a genuine subject of clinical and critical reflection, at the intersection of community-based child welfare and the medical-social field. By bringing together professionals, researchers, and clinicians, it aims to move beyond the obvious aspects of daily practice to explore what it truly means to work with families’ requests.

The day will alternate between theoretical and conceptual contributions, presented in the form of lectures, and clinical case studies, grounded in the realities of the field. This back-and-forth between theory and practice, between the general and the specific, lies at the heart of the conference’s educational mission: the goal is not so much to offer ready-made answers as to open up shared spaces for reflection, where the complexity of working with families can finally be articulated and shared.
