Doctoral bursaries are intended for doctoral students in the writing phase who will be enrolled in the third year of their thesis or higher in September 2026. These scholarships are intended to support final thesis writing and do not constitute funding for field or archival research.
Winners will be hosted by the Museum's Research and Teaching Department. Their presence at the museum is required (there is no part-time arrangement).
Four doctoral scholarships will support doctoral students enrolled in at least their third year of study for the 2026-2027 academic year, at a French or foreign university. These scholarships are intended to support the writing of final theses, and do not constitute funding for field or archival research.
Applicants must specify how their project fits into the research priorities and environment of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac (collections, archives, media library, scientific community).
Doctoral grants are awarded for a non-renewable period of 12 months , from September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027. They amount to 1,400 euros net per month. They are awarded after evaluation by the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Selection Committee.
