The aim of this study day is to explore the interdependent relationship between control and law from historical, philosophical, and legal perspectives. The presentations will focus on two main themes. The first, devoted to the right to control, invites an examination of the philosophical and historical foundations of its legitimacy; then, once the principle of control is accepted, it seeks to determine its attribution, scope, and legal framework. The second, concerning the control of law, aims to distinguish between the control of institutions—particularly political ones—through legal mechanisms, and the control of acts, specifically within the framework of international law.
