Trust is the "feeling that makes one trust someone or something" (Littré), in our case, the digital environment and its actors. French and European legislators are seeking to promote online trust. The transposition of the European directive of June 8, 2000 on electronic commerce through the law "for trust in the digital economy" of June 21, 2004 and, more recently, the European regulation of July 23, 2014 on "electronic identification and trust services" are two particular illustrations of this. The ambition of this study day is to verify in what way digital trust third parties contribute to making effective the online trust that the legislator seeks to institute.
