Announcement Calenda 1237740

The Institut national du cancer (INCa) and the Institut pour la recherche en santé publique (IReSP) are renewing their call for applications (AAC) for thesis projects on addictive behaviors, including the consumption and polyconsumption of licit or illicit drugs and behaviors with addictive potential, whether they are part of a scientific consensus (gambling, video games), or are still poorly documented (screen, compulsive purchases, eating disorders, sexual, sports, work, etc.).

The aim of this call for applications is to develop the scientific community and support excellent, ambitious and innovative research open to all disciplines, in order to improve knowledge of addictive behaviours and, ultimately, to guide political decision-making in public health.

To meet this objective, INCa and IReSP fund thesis projects for a period of three years, and offer 4th-year thesis funding to enable PhD students to complete their thesis under favourable conditions, make the best possible use of the data collected and promote their professional integration.

Projects in the fields of human and social sciences (SHS), public health, public health intervention research (PHIR) and/or multidisciplinary approaches are particularly welcome. Projects incorporating participatory and community-based approaches are also strongly encouraged. Exploitation of existing databases, epidemiological and cohort data, and data from research infrastructures, particularly open data, is also expected.

Particular attention will be paid to projects focusing on :

  • social, territorial and health inequalities (including the particularities of the French overseas territories) ;
  • the role of family and friends (including peer workers, peer helpers and expert patients);
  • prevention and harm reduction (harm reduction) strategies and interventions, including innovative uses (AI) and/or their evaluation;
  • mental health, a major national cause in 2025.

These priorities may be taken into account in the selection process by the scientific evaluation committee (...)
