The Centre d'histoire du XIXe siècle (UR 3550 Université Paris 1 - Sorbonne Université), in partnership with the Société d'histoire de la révolution de 1848 et des révolutions du XIXe siècle, wishing to pay homage to the memory of Professor Dominique Kalifa (1957-2020) and wishing to promote the history of the 19th century in its broadest sense, has decided to create an annual prize intended to reward a doctoral dissertation on the history of the 19th century (1800-1939).
Candidates, of French or foreign nationality, must have defended, during the calendar year preceding the date of submission to the jury, a doctoral dissertation in a French university on the 19th century within the chronological limits specified above. Candidates may apply for the Prize only once.
Only theses defended in 2021 will be admitted to the competition.
