Dry zones (arid, semi-arid, sub-humid) are home to complex agrarian systems, where societies compete or synergize land uses for crops, livestock and forestry. The DYNAGRO symposium will explore the resilience of these systems in the face of climatic, demographic, land, security and geopolitical pressures, the tensions and compromises between stakeholders, and the adaptations, transitions and transformations at work in these territories. International in scope, the conference will focus on the Sahel, but will also be open to all the world's drylands, with a session dedicated to wetlands.
