1 Summary of the award

Created in 2005, the Prix Jean Carbonnier rewards work resulting from a thesis or first book on law or justice, regardless of the humanities and social sciences discipline concerned.

Since 2017, the Carbonnier Prize has been awarded in partnership with Editions Dalloz.

Written in French, published or unpublished, by a French or foreign author, these works must have been completed, or defended in the case of a thesis, between September 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023.

The prize is €5,000. The winner will also be invited to take part in the Adamas residencies at the Château de Goutelas (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region), a European residency program for researchers in partnership with the Conseil constitutionnel, the International Academy of Nuremberg Principles and the International Economic Law Association.
