Calenda Announcement 1,434,377 (excerpts)

This conference examines, from a long-term historical perspective, the media-specific and cultural characteristics of magazines and their circulation dynamics, both of which are closely intertwined. In particular, we wish to examine how the successors to the “magazines” of yesteryear (such as*The Saturday Magazine*,*Le Magasin pittoresque*,*Das Pfennig-Magazin*,*El Museo de las familias*, *Il Mondo illustrato*, etc.) are expanding their mission to democratize access to print media and culture, against the dual backdrop of the massification of education and the globalization of trade.
