Created in 1999, the research department has two main missions: teaching (introduction to research, supervision of students' work, thematic courses) and research, which is the responsibility of the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche Appliquée au champ Pénitentiaire (CIRAP). CIRAP develops multi-disciplinary knowledge on the penitentiary field, particularly for professionals and for initial and continuing training. Two essential elements underpin its originality: involved research and interdisciplinarity.
