What does it mean to belong to the “executive” category today, in this era of triumphant globalization and managerialization, fueled by the proliferation of training programs—whether at universities or in business schools—which serve as factories for churning out “manager-administrators”? The purpose of this call for papers is to collectively explore issues concerning the role of managers in today’s organizations, where management and administration have become dominant forces, to the point of challenging professional identities, redefining their training, and to transform the nature of the professional knowledge expected of them as well as the very content of their work.
