Presentation

The next meeting "Quo vadis human work?" will take place on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 10:00 am, in videoconference.

Marie-Anne DUJARIER, professor of sociology at the Université Paris Cité, will speak on the theme: The values of work.

Questioning the meaning attributed to the word "work" in our societies, Marie-Anne Dujarier shows its historical variations. Moreover, work is regularly brandished as a value. However, the great polysemy of the word invites us to unfold it and to consider the values it carries. Leaving behind the binary debates on work, we will consider the relationships and conflicts between these values, on the one hand, and the political and moral uses that are made of them, on the other.

The conference will be held in French and Polish, with simultaneous translation.
