  • AIMS

    The Health Law and Research Supervision (DSER) programme enables students to deepen their fundamental knowledge of health law whilst developing a solid command of legal argumentation, both oral and written.

    The programme aims to strengthen students' general legal knowledge and develop their capacity for critical analysis of contemporary issues relating to the healthcare system, bioethics, health data and technological innovations.

    It also enables students to acquire legal research methodologies and prepares them for civil service examinations as well as for entry to the CRFPA.

    Target careers:

    • Legal officer in a healthcare or medico-social establishment
    • Health law solicitor
    • Project Officer in health agencies or health administrations
    • Legal officer in the healthcare sector
    • Preparation for civil service examinations (hospital director, etc.)
  • TARGETED STUDENTS

    The programme is primarily aimed at students holding a Master's 1 degree compatible with health law who wish to specialise in this field.

    It is also open to professionals in the health or medico-social sector wishing to develop legal skills applicable to the healthcare system

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

    Admission is open to students holding a Master's 1 degree or an equivalent qualification comprising modules relevant to health law.

    Selection is based on academic records and may be supplemented by an interview to assess the alignment of the candidate's career plans with the programme's objectives.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    Students must have sufficient knowledge of the fundamental areas of public law, including constitutional law and administrative law, as well as private law, including civil law and criminal law.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    Prior training in public or private law applied to the field of health, as well as an interest in legal issues relating to the healthcare system, bioethics, and biomedical research.

  • STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

    The programme takes place over one academic year and is worth 60 ECTS credits.

    It includes one semester of coursework (S3) devoted to the core subjects of health law and research methodologies, followed by a semester (S4) dedicated to the completion of a dissertation or an internship.

    The programme is affiliated with UMR 7268 ADES.

    The course is part of an approach that combines academic teaching with an introduction to legal research.

    It involves carrying out a group research project leading to a scientific presentation, as well as writing a dissertation or an internship report.

    This work enables students to develop their skills in legal analysis, documentary research and academic writing.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:

    • Master legal reasoning as applied to the field of health
    • Analyse the legal issues relating to the healthcare system and its development
    • Understand litigation in the health sector
    • Conduct in-depth legal research
    • Design a legal or scientific project as part of a team
    • Apply national, European, and international health law standards

  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    The programme includes the completion of either a professional internship or a research dissertation, leading to an oral defence in semester 4.

    It also includes mandatory participation in a collective research project aimed at producing a scientific presentation.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

    The programme combines lectures, research seminars, collective work, and methodological exercises.
